Rushy pond is an framed original painting by Dorset Artist Jill Marsden.
‘I love Thorncombe Wood, although it has been rather busy there lately. Rushy Pond can seem quite magical. Thomas Hardy mentions Rushy Pond in his short stories and in a poem. It is said that you can hear a legion of Roman Centurians marching along the Roman Road which runs nearby.
I have painted several versions of this spot and thought I would create three different representations in three different styles (see Rushy Pond 2 and Rushy Pond 3).
Acrylic on board mounted in a light white cradle frame. 13”x16”
