Roger Lockey: My Biog
A retired art teacher, I am now resident in Wareham and trying to put into practice in my own work what I encouraged others to do for 35 years. I enjoy using a wide range of materials, techniques and processes, usually in work inspired by the natural world, whether locally or on trips further afield.
Although my work is primarily representational, it usually begins with experimental backgrounds, often combining different media, including paint, ink, oil pastel, acrylic, marbling, collage and gesso applied with brushes, sponges, palette knives, spray bottles, twigs and even a mop!
Until the recent disruption caused by the pandemic, I have been an active member of both Wareham Art Club and Purbeck Art Weeks and hope to start exhibiting again next year, circumstances permitting.
