Phil Hill: My Biog
I began to paint more than 40 years ago. Though self taught, I was considered sufficiently accomplished to teach adult education art classes in Bournemouth through the 1970s before moving to Purbeck in 1980.
Over the past years I have built up a reputation for modern contemporary work, abstract and surreal, with echoes of art deco and cubism. I currently use two distinct styles, patterned intricate abstracts and more spontaneous palette knife energised abstracts. I call my work “Anti Depressionism”.
Visitors are always welcome by prior arrangement to see a fuller range of my paintings at my home/studio at Norden near Corfe Castle. My work is also on permanent exhibition at The Italian Kitchen restaurant on Wareham Quay. You can seem more of my work at www.philhillcottagestudio.com c
