Paul Longland: My Biog
Based in the coastal town of Swanage I am an artist who mainly works in oil. (but if the mood of the subject demands it, I will occasionally turn my hand to water colour or acrylic). I am based in a studio/gallery in Corfe Castle called Sandy Hill Studios (Unit 20) located behind the well known Boilerhouse Gallery.
I am inspired by the sea that surrounds the Purbeck area, the countryside that pushes right up to the edge of the fascinating local terrain that is framed by some magnificent cliffs and coastline features of the Jurassic coast. They are an infinite source of interest and inspiration. And the amazing light!, the way it falls across the ever changing mood of the surface of the sea and interacts with the landscape.
